Hotel Management is a professional course based on Training. The training starts from the first year students in form of CT or Casual Training, which is a one-day training in a 5-star property. This helps the students to face or experience the 5-star hotel for the first time.
These are some tips that a student must keep in mind for CT, as well as any hotel management training:
1. Reaching on time is the first impression that the students create in the hotel where they have been sent for CT. It is better to reach at least 15-20 minutes in advance of the given time.
2. Every student must be dressed properly with correct hairstyle and a decent get-up. The shirt, pants, socks, tie and coat/blazer must be ironed and washed properly. Shoes must be polished and formal belt must be worn. The hair should be trimmed and combed neatly and no hair should be on the fore head. For girls, it should be tied in a bun and clipped properly. No jewellery for boys is allowed, only a ring in one hand may be worn. For girls, a small ear ring, single bangle on one hand and wrist watch on the other and a ring would be enough. The formal business suit or saree should be worn neatly.
3. The behaviour, attitude and manners should be very humble, polite and gentle right from the time the student enters the hotel, be it with the staff or with the HR or with the guests because he is carrying the dignity of himself as well as the college with him.
4. No malpractice should be there like stealing, cheating, negligence in work, as, a student’s first impression is created in CT or even any hotel management training.
